Dozer is a data infrastructure tool enabling easy real-time data products development, deployment and maintenance.

It pulls data from various sources like databases, data lakes, and warehouses using Change Data Capture (CDC) and periodic polling mechanisms. This ensures up-to-date data ingestion in real-time or near-real-time.

Dozer features an internal streaming SQL engine for real-time data transformation and aggregation. Upcoming versions will support custom transformations through WebAssembly (WASM) and TypeScript, as well as model inferencing via Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX).

After transformation, data is stored in a low-latency datastore, optimized for quick retrieval, making it suitable for high-performance use-cases. The distributed architecture of Dozer ensures scalability and high availability.

However, when used as a cache, one of the biggest challenges is determining the appropriate TTL (Time to Live) for each record, which essentially determines the freshness of the data.

In contrast, Dozer is an advanced data management tool designed specifically for real-time or near real-time data ingestion from diverse sources. It leverages Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms to ensure that data is always fresh, avoiding the complexities of managing TTLs associated with traditional caching solutions. Hasura is a powerful GraphQL engine that connects directly to your databases and microservices and auto-generates a production-ready GraphQL API.
